Jerks. Killing Byron bay with overpriced parking, and millions of rules.

How do you justify charging Melbourne parking fees & fines yet fail to provide roads that are maintained or at the least footpaths for all the main streets? It may be Byron Bay but its also the 21st century , the council meetings must be a riot..literally

Seriously council should not be able to make laws, and enforce them, as council is bias against public and members of the community without any independent oversight Byron bay council are ruthless

We've visited byron for quite a few years and am disappointed to see you added paid parking to the cbd. 1 hr is just not enough time to do anything, you can't enjoy a coffee and breakfast or lunch or even walk around the shops in that time. I'm sure the 3$/hr is needed to pay for the silly machines in he first place but you won't be getting my dollars anymore.

We drove straight through and didn't stop, and to be honest are unlikely to come back into the cbd.

Terrible...trying to get my double charge residentional payment back since 4/12/15. Phoned at least 7 times, finally get a call back today. Explained yet again the problem, they advised me I had to fill many forms and provide proof. Why is it so easy for them to take double payment, but I cannot get my money back, in asking this question the lady banged the phone a couple of times and hung up. Great customer service. And please don't even start me on the roads, second time my son's car has a bent rim after hitting yet another pothole...Byron what do you spend the money on?

Worst council in Australian history. Loves to waste public money on anything that is not in the interest of the locals. Don't take my word for it, experience a poop in a singing toilet (ignore the line) for only $3 an hour! (Its actually only about 40mins, as you have to wait to get to the sacred parking meter, then work out how to use it (credit card payment will be available early February, two months ago... bring coins). The roads are very "scenic" as in, make sure your actually on a road/goat track. It can be hard to tell if you are actually on a road. If there is at least 300m of potholes, them thats your passage. Stay safe, drink chai latte (vegen, obviously) and bring a yoga mat. It will help for the drive in.

Not sure if council is anti locals or anti tourism?
